aQuellé’s ViV sports drink scoops international award

Just weeks after its release the new South African-made power and sports drink ViV, manufactured by aQuellé, was named the “Best New Brand” at the Zenith Global 17th Global Water Drinks Awards on Wednesday.

The annual showcase celebrates excellence and innovation across all categories in the worldwide packaged water industry.

The ViV power and sports drink is the latest product from Kranskop-based aQuellé and is made from pure natural spring water.

“We are thrilled about this award as the ViV range has been designed around a number of key nutritional, ergonomic and environmental sustainability factors,” said aQuellé’s director Nico Bosman.

“ViV is designed to optimise active lifestyles within an African context.”

The range strives to deliver optimal nutrition to athletes, home and office users while keeping the product as healthy as possible. The ViV sports drinks do not contain any colourants.

The ViV range consists of four unique flavours: ViV Power contains guarana and natural caffeine, while the Pineberry, Gardenfruit and Kalamansi sports drinks revive with added electrolytes and B vitamins, and a natural spring water variant.

The unique customised bottle designed to fit ergonomically into the drinker’s hand, is blown in-line. With its unique grip and its aesthetic appeal, it is dramatically different to any other bottle in the market.

Two full vertical micro-perforation lines inserted into the sleeve allow for the release of steam during application. The addition of a third perforation line, an industry first, enables easy removal of the sleeve to support the recycling of the PET bottle post-consumer usage. “This emphasises aQuellé’s commitment to environmental sustainability’” said Bosman.

“This recognition from the Zenith Global Water Drinks Awards comes at a time when our new product is generating a lot of positive feedback from consumers who have tried it,” said Bosman.

“We feel like champions and hope that we can share this with the serious athletes, recreational sportspeople and all active people at home and at work.”
