FAME Week Africa 2022 welcomes partnerships with leading industry associations

FAME Week Africa, taking place in the Host City of Cape Town from 24 – 26 August at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is delighted to announce its partnership with four leading industry associations: SASFED, SACIA, Animation SA and Women in Music SA. These partnerships are critical establishing best practices, education, industry leadership and the technical standards to which the industry aspires and adheres to.

“The importance of these associations and what they bring to industry events cannot be overstated, their grass roots credibility and emphasis on people skills and development are essential for growth, both in Africa and the world”, says Judy Goddard, Event Director of FAME Week Africa.

 

The South African Screen Federation (SASFED) is the national federation of independent film, television, and audio-visual content industry organisations in South Africa. SASFED represents a united voice for a broad spectrum of industry players, via affiliates, including the likes of The Independent Black Filmmakers Collective (IBFC), the Documentary Filmmakers’ Association (DFA) and the South African Guild of Editors (SAGE). They represent several thousand individual members and hundreds of member companies and as the collective core of South Africa’s creative independent film and television industries, SASFED brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to benefit FAME Week Africa delegates and industry professionals.

 

The Southern African Communications Industries Association (SACIA) is a non-profit organisation specifically designed to promote the adoption of professional standards and ethical business practice in the communications, events and entertainment industry throughout Southern Africa. Their alliance with several domestic and international bodies such as the SA Events Council, Production Services Association (PSA) and International Moving Image Society (IMIS) will provide FWA visitors critical insights into available global communication platforms.

 

As South Africa`s official animation industry bodyAnimation SA represents the interests of the South African animation and SFX industry and it`s professionals. This resource is essential for any professional pursuing a career in animation, looking to increase their networking and engage with the broader community at large. What ASA brings to FAME Week Africa this year is their unique vision of an ever-changing futuristic hybrid landscape where FX, gaming visual design, film, animation and virtual art continues to set new milestones on the global stage.

 

Women in Music SA is a grass roots organization committed to advancing equality, visibility and opportunities for woman in the musical arts through education, support, empowerment and recognition, enabling a more diverse and inclusive community in our industry.
