It’s all systems go for the Eastern Cape’s favourite family festival, the SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees.
The marquees are up, the entertainers are excited to be on the biggest stage in the Eastern Cape and hundreds of tickets have already been sold, according to festival director Jenni Honsbein.
Perfect outdoor festival weather is predicted for the weekend of Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26.
The 2022 Wildsfees will feature a constellation of 24 national stars on a giant stage, over 300 selected stallholders and plenty of all-day entertainment and action for the whole family.
For kids there is a carnival area with clowns, face painting and a play ball pond.
And for the young at heart there is a fun fair with traditional rides.
Visitors will also be able to explore the taste of sushi, oysters, charcuterie platters and, of course, biltong, kudu burgers and traditional festival fare.
Conservation features in displays by the South African National Parks Board and Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency, bee-keeping expos and more.
In addition, the festival hosts the Eastern Cape’s biggest motor and outdoor expos, as well as an agricultural zone and a Boerboel show on the Saturday.
Tickets will be available at the gate
Visitors to the festival will not have to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test.
Covid-19 regulations will be applied on the grounds, which includes the wearing of masks in enclosed places.
