KFC’s fast inhouse delivery service expands in Limpopo

KFC South Africa launched its very own in-house delivery service KFC Delivery PLUS in September last year and the uptake since then has been substantial. In fact, Delivery PLUS has grown exponentially over the last year and today, KFC are pleased to extend that service to two additional towns in Limpopo – Thohoyandou and Malamulele.

“KFC Delivery PLUS has always been focused on expanding fresh and fast delivery, to all corners of SA,” says Thuthuka Nxumalo, Chief Operations Officer at KFC Africa. “And today we are proud to deliver on that promise with the launch of this service to these outlying community areas in the province – enabling us to offer free deliver to even more of our customers.”

Thohoyandou and Malamulele were selected as part of KFC’s Delivery PLUS’ growing footprint in response to franchisee requests to continue to meet the needs for the growing demand of Finger Lickin’ Good chicken.

The changing consumer trends around online ordering led KFC to significantly expand the number of restaurants that will offer this KFC-owned delivery service – where today, customers across the country can utilise the KFC app to order, pay for, and receive a KFC order, via free delivery – making it easier than ever before. KFC Delivery PLUS also offers consumers access to unique specials and exclusive offers that are not necessarily available in-restaurant and is now available in nearly half of the KFCs across South Africa.

KFC have placed significant emphasis on leveraging the benefits of digital technologies not only within restaurants, but throughout the full consumer engagement process to create a frictionless customer journey and unparalleled customer satisfaction.

“Today, it is all about customer centricity and convenience and I believe this will continue to set the tone for successful ecommerce strategies,” adds Nxumalo. “This growth also creates broader community upliftment and opportunity. In fact, Skedadel has already employed 12 drivers dedicated to KFC delivery (for the 8 restaurants in the area) and the employment stretch is up to 35 additional drivers to service KFC Delivery PLUS for Thohoyandou and Malamulele.”

KFC Delivery PLUS will be serving the Thohoyandou and Malamulele districts from 27 July 2022.

“We pride ourselves in being a market leader in the ecommerce space – we have been deliberate in building internal capability, as well as accelerating our digital products and services. It is our ambition to continue to increase access for our consumers both in urban and rural areas and we look forward to witnessing this service and our footprint continue to grow,” concludes Nxumalo.
