This is in response to Jumia’s promise to make lives in Ghana easier and better through e-commerce and technology.

Speaking at the launch, the CEO of Jumia Ghana, Mr. Sunil Natraj said ‘’The past 11 years have been wonderful considering the impact we’ve had on lives in Ghana through e-commerce. We are proud to have paved the way for e-commerce expansion across the country through our JForce network of young vibrant individuals who assist consumers upcountry and in rural areas to place orders online. Having access to essential products at affordable prices is a dream come true for many of these consumers taking into account the difficult economic climate that has clouded the country over the past year. We have also had impacts in areas such as job creation, women empowerment, SME growth and sustainability. We wish to express our profound gratitude to all stakeholders particularly our staff, consumers, vendors & partners, the media everyone associated with Jumia. The best is yet to come’’

“The 11th anniversary sale promises a great opportunity for sellers to have access to the millions of consumers online through the onlinz platform. This is a period where consumers look forward to discounts and t deals hence a opportunity to grow and increase revenue. There will be daily flash sales, treasure hunts and many giveaways during the anniversary sale as well as quality products across various categories from top brand partners. These include gold partners Samsung and Tecno as well as other brands such as Itel, Westpool, Roch, Unilever, Nivea, Nexus, Pernod Ricard,Oraimo and Bruhm.”

Speaking on Jumia’s city penetration and expansion project, The Chief Marketing Officer, Yvonne Gyefour said ‘’Over the past few years, we have identified some challenges with consumers in remote areas and cities outside the capital accessing e-commerce. The overall challenges with internet, smartphone penetration and logistics are still quite evident in such areas. Our regional expansion and city penetration programs have been key to drive e-commerce growth throughout Ghana. Our team of over 5,000 JForce agents have been instrumental in educating and assisting consumers upcountry to order for their essential products online while picking up their orders faster and at reduced shipping fees from about 100 pick-up stations spread throughout the country. Creating jobs for these Jforce agents to earn a living while providing consumers with the best quality products at affordable prices is a great achievement and we aspire to expand this project to all corners of the country in the near future’’.
