Empowering women in digital energy

In 2018, the journey of Women in Digital Energy commenced—a journey deeply rooted in extensive research and a profound understanding of the digital energy landscape. Visionary founder, Tami Mase, dedicated years to studying climate change, global warming, and the challenges they pose. She devised innovative solutions for her teams, addressing climate change head-on and tackling issues such as carpooling. Out of this determination to make a difference, WIDE was born.

WIDE capitalizes on the current energy crisis, using it as a catalyst for change. Their focus is clear—energy as a global currency, with a special emphasis on women in this transformative digital energy landscape. It demands rigorous training, pioneering technological breakthroughs, and, most importantly, an opportunity for women to actively participate in sustainable economies. WIDE doesn’t just talk; it acts.

The launch of Rolliit, Africa’s first Super All-In-One multi-featured Social Media Networking Platform that will be incorporating Digital Energy Economy, serves as a testament to their commitment. Combined with the forthcoming Solar Powered Data Centre, it paves the way for women in business and digital entrepreneurship.

Set to debut in the first quarter of 2024, the Solar Powered Data Centre promises to revolutionize the energy landscape. Located in the heart of Soweto, South Africa’s largest township, this visionary project adds another layer of historical significance to this vibrant community. Soweto, a place that holds the legacy of apartheid and is home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners, is poised to become the site for an innovative tech lab, that will be situated at Shaft 17.

Through Women in Digital Energy, we’re not just embracing change; we’re leading it. Our mission is to empower women in the digital energy space and redefine the future of our energy economy. Together, we’re not just participants; we’re pioneers, shaping a brighter, more inclusive world for all.” says visionary founder of WIDE, Tami Mase.

The journey continues as they aim to secure 500 passionate queens. The first 180 individuals have already seized the opportunity during the inaugural launch of the Women In Digital Energy (WIDE) Awards held in August 2023 and blessed by Minister of CoGTA, Honourable Minister Thembi Nkadimeng, becoming partners in the groundbreaking Solar Energy Data Centre in Soweto, and some extending their interest further by becoming shareholders. Interested women (queens) throughout the Continent are invited to join this transformative project and be part of Soweto’s resilient history, shaping a brighter, more inclusive future.

Bheki ‘Ma-Events’ Twala, the President of TECSA and the driving force behind the Township Economy Awards, will play an integral role in the roadshow and summit. His notable achievements, include introducing the Township Economy Act and bringing BRICS to the township, exemplify his dedication to progress and township economy inclusivity.

To make this transformative vision a reality, the Africa Digital Energy Summit (ADES) beckons. It proudly stands as the first women-led and women-focused Digital Energy Summit in Africa, promising captivating events, including the unveiling of “iThole,” also known as the Golden D.E.E.R. (Digital Energy Economy Revolution).

In a remarkable gesture, they’ve introduced an empowerment window. With the purchase of an Event VIP ticket, attendees stand a chance to receive an Energy Project valued at R500,000, to be developed in Soweto. Those interested in participating in this groundbreaking project can register through www.wide.africa and can send their queries via email tosupport@wide.africa.

The initiative is clear—to empower women who bring clean energy solutions and pioneer futuristic technologies across the entire energy value chain, shaping a new digital energy economy.

They are committed and focussing on empowering, capacitating and promoting female participation in the digital energy economy, creating an inclusive Energy Value Chain in the Digital World within the Metaverse, Blockchain Technology, and Web 3.0 Platforms. This vision is supported through various current and future events hosted by WIDE, including Summits, Workshops, Roundtables, Masterclass Sessions, and Learnerships, with the aim to facilitate technology transfer and awareness, both locally and internationally.

The WIDE events mark the beginning of a new era, where women lead in building an energy-backed, technology-driven economy. As the world goes digital, a strong foundation for the Digital Energy Economy is imperative. The events feature speakers at the forefront of this revolution, discussing the core solutions and innovations that are shaping the future.
