KFM and Cape Community Media are new She-Bobo partners + VIDEO: soccer giant Quinton Fortune

It’s a hat-trick! The Cape’s biggest radio station Kfm and the Cape’s biggest community newspaper publisher Cape Community Media are getting behind the University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) newly launched She-Bobo junior girls’ soccer league.

She-Bobo was created as a platform for under-8 and under-10 girls to play competitive football. There is a lack of league competition for junior girls in this age group. The league will be launched with a football festival with 10 participating community clubs to be held at the UWC Stadium on Saturday, 22 October 2022.“KFM is a pre-eminent brand representing true family values and is committed to connecting communities. Cape Community Media has a massive reach with print titles all over the greater Cape Town area and digital platforms. The two media houses form part of the perfect partnership for the University as we place a premium on community engagement,” said UWC spokesperson and league co-ordinator Gasant Abarder.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United and Bafana Bafana midfielder Quinton Fortune sent a video message supporting the league.

Speaking from the United Kingdom, Fortune said: “I’m excited about the She-Bobo girl’s league, and I wish the University of the Western Cape all the best with this excellent initiative. To the girls, I hope you have lots of fun out there!”
