The race to the annual Basadi in Music Awards 2023 is on

Following the announcement of the partnerships with South Africa’s favourite chicken restaurant Nando’s, Africa’s Leading HairXpert Sofnfree, NPO Women In Music South Africa and Africa Rising Music Conference, Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) opened nominations on 19 April 2023 for the annual celebration of women’s excellence in music and other entertainment spheres. Basadi in Music Awards’ second instalment is scheduled for August 2023 to coincide with Women’s Month in South Africa.

This year, women in music and entertainment will be acknowledged across 30 categories at the Basadi in Music Awards 2023. The public is eligible to nominate their favourite candidates across 23 categories. While members of Basadi in Music Awards Executive Committee will determine the nominees in 5 special awards categories, namely, the Lifetime Achievement Award, Humanitarian Award and the CEO Mosadi in Business Awards, amongst others.

The Nando’s Emerging Artist of the Year category is a special category for artists who are not signed to a recording label and have not released their music commercially. All other categories can be nominated by sending an SMS of the category code and candidate to 49960 e.g. STYLIST Styles by Tumi, as many times as desired. Each SMS will be charged at R2. T’s and C’s apply.
