Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) is thrilled to announce that vibrant media personality, Khanyi Mbau, will host the highly anticipated second annual awards ceremony. Set to take place on 12 August 2023 at the renowned Joburg Theatre.

Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) announced this year’s nominees across 24 categories during a star-studded brunch on 29 June 2023 hosted by the charismatic Tumelo Candice Modiselle. In addition to the nominees, Basadi in Music Awards also announced recipients of two special award categories. The CEO’s Mosadi in Business Award, which acknowledges women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and resilience in their respective ventures, will be presented to Nhlanhla Mafu, Thando Thabethe, and Boity at the main event. Furthermore, the Mosadi in Music in Africa Award will be presented to Berita (Zimbabwe), Maleh (Lesotho), Mpho Sebina (Botswana), and Sefa (Ghana). These trailblazing women have made significant contributions to the music scene in their respective countries and left an indelible mark across the African continent.
Voting lines are now open, allowing fans and supporters to vote for their favourite nominees. To vote, send an SMS with the category code and the nominee’s name to 49960 at R2 per SMS. For example, to vote for Lady Amar as DJ of the Year, send “DJ Lady Amar”.
