In addition to producing international beverage brands, Allied Domecq PLC also took interest in the food and retailing sector. Domecq was founded in 1961 after three UK based companies merged to form a larger company. It was then called Allied Breweries. Throughout the world, the company is known in 60 countries with 14, 000 locations. Its forefathers include Tetley Walker, Ind Coope and Ansells. The company changed its name over three times to what it is known today.
